A Year End Note
December 2024
As the Administrator and Members of the Advisory Board of The Stone and Holt Weeks Foundation -- and as friends and admirers of Stone and of Holt -- we wanted to say thank you for your ongoing support and to ask that you remember The Foundation in your year-end charitable giving and estate planning.
The Foundation has continued to support organizations that have carried on the good work of Holt and of Stone -- addressing overwhelming environmental crises, the difficulties of homelessness, health issues, and important educational needs -- while encouraging inspired leadership and compassionate volunteerism. You have donated from near and far, sent kind and tender notes, participated remotely in Foundation events and otherwise embodied Do Good, Have Fun in your own way and at your own pace in honor of Stone and of Holt.
At a time when goodness can seem scarce, The Stone and Holt Weeks Foundation is committed to the ongoing support of these organizations which have shown so much resilience through unexpected challenges. The Foundation remains unwavering in its pursuit of the charitable work Holt and Stone believed in and worked for.
Please see the Work of The Foundation to understand more fully the scope of its mission. Through these last 15 years, The Foundation has awarded grants totaling more than $950,000 to multiple organizations working to benefit those most in need.
This is a testament to Stone and to Holt, who were -- and continue to be -- an inspiration for others to further the work they engaged in during their all too brief lives.
Your generous help will ensure that The Foundation can continue to fund these organizations for many years to come. And it will enable The Foundation to respond to more people in need -- as we did this year: providing substantial support for victims of devastating major disasters and poverty around the world; sending more aid to homeless people; and helping to address growing climate concerns and environmental sustainability.
The Foundation is a component fund of the Greater Washington Community Foundation. All contributions are tax deductible. When you make a donation to The Stone and Holt Weeks Foundation, 98.9 percent goes straight to the good causes we support. The other 1.1 percent goes to the Community Foundation, which handles the accounting and paperwork. All other work is done on a volunteer basis.
Thank you again and wishing you all good health as we look toward a new year.
Warmly,
Susan Park, Administrator
